I was thrilled when I found out Jen over at Earth Angel Toys recently started a blog. She wrote a post about the home as a playground, with an ever changing seasonal palette and displays. I couldn't agree more. I like to share pictures of those ever-changing spaces that I live in. Hope you enjoy them. Yesterday I shared my eye candy creative space that is always warm and inviting for my muse whenever she chooses to sit down for tea. Today I will share the more organic, constantly changing space of our living room. I inspired by this over the top toadstool tablescape at my local Anthropologie store, I decided to get a little down and dirty.
I yearn for the day when I can dig into the earth again. For now, the land is white. So I gathered up some moss (from the local craft store) and made this little home for all the wonderful spring swap goodies that have been arriving in my mailbox. Treasures have been coming from far and wide. I wanted to give them all a safe place to land.
This lovely missy toadstool creation is by the amazing miss*R in Australia. This exquisite mixed media mallard and her ducklings is by Ellen in the Netherlands

This lovely altered slide box with matching box is by the wonderous Elizabeth. Wow!! This art is really blowing me away ladies. It will always be treasured:)
Also put this woodland wall pocket up. We had it at our wedding and I've always kept it. We got married in the winter, so we had lots of dried floral arrangements. Love this one!
Have a great day!

Hi there! I've been LOVING your posts...PURE eye candy! I received your beautiful swap Spring blessing in the mail...you are a genious. That's all I can say! Wow....! I will be posting pictures (as soon as I get a chance) of my ATCs going to you this week. Thanks for such an inspired swap! :)
What a beautiful Earthy collection :)
When I was young, I dreamed of having a rippling stream running through the middle of the house. I thought that would be so cool. And then I found out that my great-great-grandmother had a coldhouse/pantry built over a stream to keep the preserves fresh. I wish I could have seen that! :)
Me again....I just googled "built over a stream" and found this
http://oakland-nj.org/streamhouse.html
It says
"Since the building was built over a stream, the large basement rooms were ideal for the storage of dairy products, since the flowing water would serve as a natural air conditioner."
Cool :)
What lovely things you have here and that cake boxes...devine!!!
Kari...I have so been enjoying your latest posts, you have a beautiful dining area, and I love how you display your things-after all what is the point in creating art if we are to hide it away? It is a wonderful idea. I will soon post photo's of my study (in South Africa we call it a study not a studio, the words are derived from the latin word stadium
which meant to be zealous and also pursuit or occupation) so after that little lesson...lol, as I was saying, I will post pictures as soon as it is tidy and presentable!
Enjoy seeing your house/art spaces so much, Hurray for the ever inspiring Kari! I hope you get your little package from me this week!
The mossy stand filled with Spring goodies is fabulous. Wow, there are some talented women out there! Kari, your home must feel so "Springy" despite the cold and snow outside. And thanks for your comments on my blog! ;-)
What a beautiful display!

And it's so fun to have found another Minnesotan. I think that I know the Anthropology that you were at. I have been there many a time myself :o)

I love what you did here. You are such an amazing artist. i am just getting back into blog land and saw that you comment on my friend Julies blog. I haven't been bloging much as of late but hoping to get back into the swing of things. I am always inspired by your blog, and also your blog on your son. Keep up the good work. I went snowboarding today with my sixteen year old and the weather was in the fifties it was great. Spring is coming!!!

Great post! I think the home need to be more than a playground, it also needs to be a restaurant, a school, a first aid station, and most importantly a place to relax. Thanks for the post!
