Trying to play catch up on this Friday morning. Since it's -5 degrees out, I won't be going anywhere until I have to. Can you believe it?! Even for Minnesota that is cold for this time of year. Will spring ever come? Here are my pages from the last few days for the 21 Day Challenge. The habit I'm trying to form is adding things that inspire me in some way to a journal to keep track of what gets my creative juices flowing. Kind of a catch all "go to" book for creative sparks. Above are kitchen ideas and colors that make me smile. Below are oh so inspiring creative spaces. I'm compensating for our winter white by putting lots of color in this journal to keep me from going completely crazy:)
In my last post I shared the nest I made for Heather of Speckled Egg for her Sweet Nest Swap. Today I have the pleasure of sharing the *gorgeous* nest that she sent me. Wow, check out those colors. I absolutely love it! Thanks, Heather.
Speaking of nests, have you seen the new issue of Martha Stewart Living Magazine? My issue came yesterday. I used to subscribe to Blueprint mag and when that went away, they substituted the subscription with MSL. The nests on the cover and inside are amazing! She also has a super cute tutorial on making some little birdies out of crepe paper. Martha also has an online Easter workshop going on with some fun ideas.
In other catch up news, all the partners for the Vintage Party Swap have been sent. If you didn't get an email from me check your spam folder. If it's not there, email me at artsy_mama@hotmail.com
Have a great weekend! I hope to go to a few estate sales. What are your plans?

Your kitchen pages are inspiring. This week I decided that our kitchen's main accent color will be light green. I'd like to do spring green, although mint green would look very vintage.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Martha link.
Too bad about winter hanging on so long!
This weekend we'll probably be cleaning house. Michelle's coming for a visit soon!
The nest Heather sent you is stunning. What an gorgeous set of colors.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you guys are still FREEZING out there. I have to say this is one of the reasons my hub moved here. :)
Loving your journal pages. That green kitchen is a stunner. I am feeling inspired...
your link to speckled egg isn't working.. would love to see her other works. Inspiring stuff!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!! That nest is wonderful. Love your blog. It's so inspiring!
ReplyDeleteOh my dear...your journal is certainly becoming a 'go to' place for inspiration!

Hi Artsy Mama,
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to stop being a lookey-loo, and take time to comment. You are really a creative "busy bee". You have some neat ideas & especially your latest book endeavor. That's a really great idea! Look forward to seeing your final results.
Keep buzzin'! ;)
Love you pages for your 21 Day Challenge journal! That's how I do mine!!
ReplyDelete-5 degrees. Good gravy that is SOOOO cold! I would totally have to call in sick to work if it ever got that cold! :-)
And your nest is SO adorable!!!
Well that explains why I hadn't been able to find any new Blueprints. I hadn't heard that they folded- thats a bummer. I just have to say that the vintage party swap is genius! Sorry I missed it.
ReplyDeleteI love your challenge pages. Makes me want to start an inspirational journal instead of having pieces of magazines & catalogs stuffed into folders.
ReplyDeleteI read about Blueprint but didn't believe it. I thought it was another Blueprint magazine. I guess I was in denial.
Hope you get some warmer weather soon.
Nerissa

I just wanted to say how much I love your "inspiration" book! I've been doing the same thing over the past year or so, but certainly not daily! more like seasonally. Here's a page from mine:
