I've heard so much about the flea markets in California that when we had a moment to spare in LA we headed to the Long Beach Flea Market on Sunday. It was a quick jaunt through, but as an estate sale junkie here in Minnesota, I had to see what California had to offer. I have to admit I am very spoiled here with the prices and the thrill of the hunt at estate sales. Here's what I saw...Piles and piles of vintage costume jewelry.
Some gorgeous Indian textiles.
LOVED the colors on these vintage bells.
The find of the day was this gorgeous vintage princess mirror. I just adore it. It was $175 and I had no way to bring it home, but hope to see something like it again sometime. Wow!

Here's what I did purchase. Aren't they adorable?! Love these little guys. Bought this cute vintage juice glass set as a thank you to my sister. When I got back to work on Monday night I had a bag of trims waiting for me from a co-worker. She has seen my blog and got such a kick out of my facinating with all things vintage. These are from her mother and grandmother. What a load! I love them:) Thanks, Rose. Don't you just love it when people "get you"!
Those vintage juice glasses are adorable! Your sister is lucky. :-) -Ginger
ReplyDeleteI ADORE those glasses. Very Anthropologie!
ReplyDeleteThat flea market certainly looks amazing!! I would love to check it out sometime. The glasses are adorable, and I bet your sister will love them. What a wonderful friend you have...those trims are exceptional. Looking forward to see what you will create with them!
ReplyDeleteWow! I was at the market too,my mom & I go every month and I remember seeing everything in your photos. This one was an "EXTRA" date and was much smaller than it usually is. Would've liked to have said Hi!
ReplyDeleteI'm struggling with how to leave a comment since I'm new to this whole thing. So, please forgive me if I double post.
ReplyDeleteI love those Indian textiles!!! I live in Long Beach and will most definitely be hitting that booth next month.
It is my dream to go to a real flea market some day! Living in Phoenix, we don't have anything really outstanding like that (if I've just not heard of one here - would somebody let me know?). I used to think I was really wierd about vintage, crafty things, etc. until I discovered this amazing blog world! Now I know that lots of people "get me". I love that!
ReplyDeleteI love the flea market, glad you had a good time. Love the trims you received. I love when people get me too.
ReplyDeleteI too would enjoy a trip to that flea market. I live in the north east so it may be more than a day trip! I love the vintage glasses. I bought some like it the other day. They were orange. Speaking of orange/coral. I have the same jacket. Just waiting for a chance to wear it. Looks good on you.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at your post, I recognize those boxes of Jewels in your photo... I know that particular vendor, if it is the same one I purchase from him almost every week at my local flea market here in Los Angeles. I have been to Long Beach many years ago and it is Wonderful...Love the Glasses. Jamie
ReplyDeleteYes, I love it when people *get* me. Not many really do. I live in California and haven't even been to a CA flea market!

Ooh flea markets! I love them too, but there aren't many locally here in Nova Scotia. I will have to make do with the coming yard sale season :) Sometimes I have a lucky find. The vintage coloured bells are so sweet. Lovely photography too.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh oh my gosh!!! Crafty blog lurker here, and my jaw just dropped because I actually OWN that exact Cinderella mirror that you have pictured! It was given to me when I was little by my great-grandmother, and it is now in my daughter's room. I have researched for several years and NEVER been able to find out any info on it. I even contacted the manufacturer. That is so crazy. Thanks for sharing your finds!
