Spring riot...

Now that spring really has arrived here in Minnesota (yea, I know...it's almost June...but in Minnesota is sometimes takes that long) we have seen a riot of color bursting forth from the crabapple trees this week. Accentuated by gorgeous blue skies and 70 degree weather. It was well worth the wait!

Cotton candy colored crabapple blossoms.Doesn't this tulip look like a strawberry sundae!
Saw this house on my way to an estate sale and thought it had such a retro vibe to it. The turquoise paint, bright pink tree in the front yard and shabby steps. Love it!
Found this old baby scale....

and loaded it up with vintage fabrics.

Hope you're taking some time this weekend to stop and smell the flowers:)

Oh those flowers are fabulous Kari! In southern California we have trees that bloom in purple in the spring, but Oh to see a pink tree, I love it!!!

My favorite tree to climb as a kid was the crabapple tree in our yard...loved it so much and sat up there for hours. I don't live in the Midwest anymore so I miss them...well, I did plant a Japanese crabapple in our front yard 6 yrs ago and it still looks sickly, skinny and sideways...at least, it blooms. Lol.

That is a great looking retro house.

Aren't crabapple trees the greatest? Ours bloom here in Illinois right in time for Mother's Day. It is like a little gift from nature each year. I also adore lilacs and their lovely scent. Chloe seems to enjoy them also!
