Hope everyone is recovering from their holiday feast and enjoyed their time with loved ones. For those that are making their way back home, may you travel safely. We woke up to a frosty covering of snow here in Minnesota. Hard to belive we've been home a week already from our trip to New York. I've been posting pictures in a flurry of excitement to share them and be inspired by the sights that we saw. I have links to each nyc post on the right sidebar if you'd like to take in the trip all at once. Today I thought I'd share the lovely holiday displays we saw at some of my favorite stores.
Tinsel Trading had lots of snowflakes and trees wrapped with white soft felt for a warm and cozy feel. There was glitter, glitter and more glitter. It was fun to see so much of Wendy Addison's work all in one place.
It was also fun to see Jennifer Murphy's little holiday critters piled high and happily climbing out of a set of antique drawers there.
ABC Carpet and Home was overflowing with holiday themes of every style and color.
The Shabby Chic store had a huge table filled to the brim with holiday goodness.
The Anthropologie store will have to be a whole post in itself.
What about you, have you begun putting up your holiday decor?
I love love love those pictures!!!! I am so into frosted things this year. I bought a few frosted hanging angels last year that look vintage that I kept out all year. Are you inspired to make anything frosted? hint hint :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for giving me my first glittery pastel fix of the season :) I've put some lights in a container in my teaching studio, but nothing in the house yet. My students' recital is tonight, and after that I'll be able to relax and get into the Christmas spirit

ReplyDeleteNo frosty covering of snow for us as it is now our 2nd day of summer, you wouldn't know it though as it is quite cool and lots of cloud cover.

Your photos are gorgeous!!!! I usually do shades of white for decorating... that way I can keep up the decorations throughout winter. I see soooooooo many goodies that I'd LOVE to have here!!! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteIsn't Tinsel Trading the best, I haven't been there since the summer when they were moving!

I love your pictures. I am going to NYC on the 11th of Dec. My bro and SIL live on Madison Ave. All the places you went are already on her list of places she wants to take me. You little stinker, you beat me to it, but I'm still going to take a lot of pics. Your pics were of great quality. The only place she didn't know about was the Shabby Chic store. She wanted me to ask you if you ever saw a store called EAT Gifts on Madison Ave. The tinsel store you talked about, she used to buy for them. In Wash. DC she had her own little store where she sold gift baskets of all sorts. It was called Periwinkle. Very cute. She said you really covered a lot of ground, she said you were all over the place. I can't wait to try the frozen hot choc. at Serendipitys, did you try that? Our church here in MI, just started a church in Manhattan, right now it meets at St. Georges church. It's called Communitas. I would like to see some of my old friends. She also wanted me to ask you some places that you ate. Isn't everything very expensive?????Sounds like you had a great time. I can't wait to see the Christmas decorations in the store fronts. They live right across from Lord and Taylor. Do you quilt? We are going to Purl Quilt shop in SoHo. Glad you had a wonderful time.
