You've seen all the pieces of the scene above before. The retro wreath, the vintage stockings, the candles made for my autism mom friends. Now after first seeing the cover of Home Beautiful here and then Danielle's post here, I had to add some vintage honeycomb bells I had stashed after thinking they looked too wedding-ish. Maybe they still do, but I put it all together and have to admit, it really did make me feel merry.
Another thing that made me happy, is this trunk that I came across at an estate sale the other day. Love the color and check out the inside....those stars!!! I thought it looked good filled with festive gifts and the new eco-friendly pom pom gift topper made with a Target bag! See the tutorial here. Here's a bunch more of my holiday journal pages. By keeping it simple, I'm really keeping up with photographing and documenting each day. No small feat.

ReplyDeleteOkay, you have fired my imagination with that Target pompom. I'll have to give those a shot while I'm making salt-dough ornaments!
ReplyDeleteThose 'wedding' bells are perfect for this, and we must always be ready to take the bells and make them our own!! yay! Bells are for everything.
thanks for sharing your journal pages.
Hi Kari,
ReplyDeleteSo nice to visit your always inspiring blog:) I love the red trunk and am always motivated by your self-discipline and your example of just getting things done instead of sitting around thinking about getting things done:)
your holiday journal rocks soooo much! It is so cool and gorgeous! :P

I would never have thought of using honeycomb bells for xmas decor... I guess if you think about it there are bells in the xmas decorations. I am guilty of thinking of them for wedding themes as well..
ReplyDeleteAs i look at your journal pages I feel the urge to make one of my own.. perhaps i can manage sometime to do this... I think it's a wonderful idea to preserve memories for the kids as they look back upon their years as children.
Keep up the good work.. you are such an inspiration Kari!
Great pages ~ what an inspiring idea!!!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!

ReplyDeleteYour scrapbook pages are lovely! Our rather large extended family does a scrapbook page exchange at Christmas. Its really MUCH better than the usual gift exchange, and I go home with a page from each family group, and have a completed Christmas scrap album at the end of the night! I posted my examples last week -enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYou do the 'bestest' journal pages!
