to make and do this year. Just like the title of this wonderful journal by Nickki McClure my hubby got me for Christmas. Perfect for all those incubating ideas. I set it out on a table next to the amazing mushroom that Terisa made me. I love my fungi! Thank you all for such enthusiasm and support for my year-long collaborative blog A Year of Color. See post below for more details. I am adding guest designers by the day and subscribers by the hour. Very exciting! What a vibrant community is being formed. The first month's color theme is blue and white. Here are the inspiration journal pages I put together to spark my creativity.
It's fun to think about a new palette now that all the Christmas decorations have been put away. What colors are you thinking about right now?

I LOVE that mushroom so much!
ReplyDeleteCOOL fungi!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat inspiration journal you have started there, such a soothing color palette!
Lately I've been drawn to browns and silvery blues...don't know if I'll do any decorating though...
Have a great week!
I think about red, black and white. All the time.
ReplyDeleteRight now I am all about putty, and vanilla...swampy greens with hits of fushia, muted turquiose and yellow. Just found your site and I really like it, we have similar taste.
ReplyDeleteAll the best...

ReplyDeleteblue & white!
ReplyDeleteEver since I signed up I'm looking for blue & white everywhere. I noticed on my way to pick up my son at school that the fresh snow was brighter still against the blue bird sky. And, I received a lovely package from a blog friend whose colors are blue & white. I keep noticing this color scheme everywhere. I'm lovin' it.
Thanks for opening my eyes to this new color scheme for me.
Lovely journal pages! I'm going to convert an accordion file of mine to be my year of color file and I'll drop in design samples by color based on your year of color schema. How fun!
As much as I love Christmas, I'm glad to have all that red and green stuff put away!
ReplyDeleteNow I'm thinkin' valentines day and super soft pinks paired with vibrant happy rosy pinks.
Hope you have a happy, colorful year!
Emily
I am thinking red! love the mushroom. There was a time way back when I was skinny and young, everything seemed to have a mushroom on it or in it. Yours would have fit in well.
ReplyDeleteYour, Mary

Great journal. I have one too, filled with wish lists of things to make & do.
ReplyDeleteI was just wondering if you are doing a valentine swap on your artsymama blog or the year of color blog....hope I haven't missed it.Can you give me some ides of some of the swaps you'll be doing as I don't have many thrift shops near me so I don't want to join a blog with swaps that I really can't participate in.Also,I was wondering if it would be possible to maybe make a blurb book from the year of color blog since I'm so busy with school, I won't be able to check the blog daily, but it would be nice to have it all in a book to scan through at school while waiting for the next class. Thanks!Renee
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely book, and that mushroom is so Fabulous! Wishing you a Happy and Creative New Year!

ReplyDeleteLove the inspiration journal, and have to laugh, as I just tossed all the things I've cut out to put in a color journal!! LOL!
I've been noticing lately that color is what often first piques my interest, but I'm not very good at understanding how colors . . . hmmm, work(?)
