My sister welcomed their third child, a little boy, into the world last night. I couldn't be more thrilled to be an auntie again! I made this welcome banner that my parents brought with to put up when she comes home with the baby. No name yet. Anyone know a good Scandinavian name that goes well with Annika and Lars?
Congrats!! What a beautiful welcome to the world. I guess Eric is too...you know. How about Leif or Sven? Or Gunnar? Can you tell I've read too many romance novels.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog..followed for months. Hope you can visit mine sometime. Back to work I go.
Oooo, I like Gunnar. How about Rolf? I don't think its scandinavian, but it seems to fit in: Annika, Lars and Rolf
ReplyDeleteLovely banner!
Congratulations! The welcome banner is wonderful. My good friend (with Finish heritage) named her son Gunnar. I'm assuming your sister and the baby are doing well? When was her due date?
ReplyDeleteLeif, Neils, Arne (no "e" sound on the end).
ReplyDeleteLove the beautiful banner, Kari!
Is "Kai" a Scandinavian name? I love the name Annika!
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing a new baby is :)
What a lovely gift. It would be fabulous to have you as a sister. I am interested in that wreath...looks like vertical fabric or paper circles, very interesting...
ReplyDeleteI like Sven, Nils, Hadrian or Boden.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your sister.
What a great Welcome sign. I really need to make some signs like this, for birthdays, anniversarys, holidays. They look wonderful.
Beautiful banner. I vote for Leif....what a great name. Post a photo of the little one. Babies are the best reminder of the the goodness in our lives.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful banner, Kari!

Awww Congrats!!! What a beautiful banner! So sweet of you to make. I am LOOVING the colorful wreath!!! It totally caught my eye! So happy and cheery!!! :)XO,Jenn
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! The only real Scandinavian names on the Swedish side of my family that I remember are Carl, Axel and Elmer. I can't picture a baby named Axel or Elmer, maybe because I only knew my great uncles as older men. I like Gunnar, though. Let us know what they choose.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I love being an Auntie!
ReplyDeleteHugs!

ReplyDeleteWonderful news!!!
ReplyDeleteI love Katie's wreath.
Congrats! I like the name Sorren.
ReplyDeleteMy son's middle name is Haaken (pronounced "hawkin") to reflect my scandinavian heritage. We also love it because it definitely sounds masculine unlike some of male scandinavian names.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! The banner is lovely, you really are a thoughtful aunt and sister. As for names..how about Sven?
