The joy of succulents...

I'm loving the plump greenness of succulents lately. In Minnesota, they are something that is rare to this land of cold winters. Although sedum are definitely one of my late summer favorites. I enjoyed the large containers of succulents they had at the arboretum on my visit last week.

They remind me of this wonderful store display at Nature's Harvest last year.
Feeling green and earthy with all the rain we've been having.

  3. Beautiful. This is the first year I used them, in a birdbath. I love the way it turned out. They have stayed nice all summer.

  5. As a child, we had the sedum around our house.. i didn't care for it at all.. but as an adult, I have come to appreciate them. We also had the hens and chicks...funny name for a plant.

  6. One of the things I miss the most about growing up in So Cal is all the succulents that you can grow outside. We can grow hens and chicks pretty easy so I have that stuff everywhere! :-)

  7. This is the time of year in Minnesota that lasts like the blink of an eye. But I must say, there is nothing like a Minnesota autumn. Makes me miss living further up north...!
