I just posted below 12 hours ago about our first snow of the season and I'm already updating with our second, this one I would call more of a dump. The photo above was taken last Thursday, the photo below today.
I love winter and all, after all, I do live in Minnesota. However, I can only appreciate it after a lovely autumn affair with the glorious colors and the crunching of the leaves. This, my friends, is a bit too early to be white. It's as if Autumn has been erased.
Good thing I thrifted a good stash of nice warm blankets recently. At least I have something comfy cozy to snuggle up with.

In 65 years, my dad has never seen snow on his birthday.
Happy Birthday, Dad!!!
That is quite a switch! Living in central Ohio we usually don't get fall either--our weather is unpredictable and wacky. This is the first year I really recall having autumn at all! But hey who knows...maybe it'll pass and you'll get a few more fall outings in.

Yikes! All ready??? We actually have drizzle and maybe some rain tomorrow...Still can't believe apples one day and snow the next!

Oh wow! It hasnt even made it to fall here! Driving home the sign said 91°!
ReplyDeleteAmazing on the weather! I live in So. IL and we are having much cooler weather than we've had in years. The earliest I can remember a snow here was at the end of October, right at Halloween...but that was just flurries. I remember Christmas shopping about 15 years ago and people were wearing shorts and flip-flops.... a few years before, Highways were closed down because of a blizzard!!!!! Weather is very unpredicatable....
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your Dad. It is amazing how the seasons are changing worldwide.

we are due for some flurries later on this week...i would prefer snow to wait until december but i guess i am not really given a choice either. oh well, embrace (i tell myself); maybe it will give me a jump start on Christmas preparations.

My cousin, who is currently living up in St. Paul, had her birthday today, too. Don't know how your dad feels about now on his birthday, but my cousin was not too excited. I'm am only slightly jealous as I love the first snows, then it gets a bit old for me. Since we got some blanketing on Saturday which has since melted, I'll cherish the remnant of autumn here in Iowa before it snows again.
ReplyDeleteWinter is coming to quickly here too!
ReplyDeleteOh, that is too bad. Well, I would just greet your dad happy birthday. God bless!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope your Dad enjoyed his birthday despite the snow!
ReplyDeleteWe need to have a talk with mother nature!!!
Oh wow...I certainly can not wrap my mind around that! I'm not ready for snow yet...but they are calling for frost tonight.

How beautiful, and the cooler weather sounds nice to me. I am in South Florida and we are having record highs in the 90's this week. Certainly doesn't feel like fall here.
