bunting by giggleberry creations
We've been living and breathing Strawberry Shortcake around here for the last few weeks. It all culminated in the party of all parties (if you're a five year old) to celebrate Chloe's fifth birthday! The day was truly magical and the weather could not have been more stellar. Here's a peek inside our strawberry land...Miss Chloe awaiting her guests.I had been gathering for months and it all came together beautifully. Thanks to some wonderful etsy sellers for some amazing strawberry goodies. Scrappy Jessi made Chloe this wonderful cutsom album, which is now full of birthday memories. Missy of boopsiedaisy sent Chloe the vintage strawberry hat and placecard.I also bought this print from boopsiedaisy's shop and the beautiful bunting from giggleberry creations. Our new (vintage) horse welcomed our guests. The table was set for the ladies to decorate hats and baskets for the scavenger hunt later. Treats galore!Strawberry Shortcake activities...of course! The cookies made by the kids. Yum!Chloe warming up for the party...The scavenger hunt was really fun. I created a sheet that had about a dozen strawberry shortcake characters and gathered trinkets that matched each character and put them in a bag for each. The girls went around with their treasure hunt sheet and found each bag hidden in the yard. They took one item and put it into their basket. Thanks to this and this etsy shop for beautiful handmade strawberry creations. The pony was a hit! Along with the other carnival games we played.Chloe and I made her cake together. It's definitely quirky and homemade, but I thought it turned out pretty cute! Then there were presents and hugs....and a very tired mommy and Chloe. What a wonderful time we had!!Good-bye from strawberry land!
What a lovely party. I'm sure it's one that Chloe will remember years and years from now! Happy Birthday, Chloe!

ReplyDeleteA great looking party you had for Chloe!!! I checked to see if i had anything strawberry shortcake themed, but that wasn't one of the themes that i or my sister really had much of from back in the day. You did a great job in finding items and creating your own... not that i wouldn't expect you to be able to... so much talent!!

I wish you could have seen my five year old's face and shrieks when I showed her this post. 'It's lovely!' was the phrase most used. Then she said, 'Mummy, you have to do one for me next birthday!' And added, 'Well you can try...'
ReplyDeleteHomemade cakes are the best. And I love the end photo of you and Chloe. xx
