purple and yellow...

Thanks so much for your excitment and enthusiasm for getting involved with my summer blog. I think it's going to be a lot of fun!Following the procession of spring flowering plants, I visited the MN Landscapw Arboretum again and the tulips were still in bloom, along with iris, lady slipper's and many others. It lead to a dazzling display of variety with a gorgeous purple and yellow palette.

Visiting artist Patrick Dougherty and many volunteers were working on an intriguing stick house installation.

Hope you have a fabulous weekend!

I've been thinking about going to the Arboretum this summer and now I think I have to go to see the stick house... my girls would love it.

I love your blog! I've been a silent reader for awhile now, so I thought it was time to say hi...

Very interesting stick house!!! I wonder what the inside looks like. Love the flowers.. I took my camera back to the greenhouse to get pictures of the sea of color i saw the first time i went, but sadly, the majority of plants were gone.. the beautiful sight was gone.. maybe next year i will remember to take my camera. One almost needs to trips for that.. one for picture taking and the other for buying.. it's quite a large greenhouse and requires all of your attention to shopping. I am not aware of an arboretum in my area.. it would be great to visit one.

Gosh, it is pretty out there. I just love it. My friend, Donna, got the structure that they made out of pop bottles and had to get a truck to haul it to Rapid City but now they gave it to her permanently.

The stick house is amazing. I would love to go and see that!

This year I shifted my focus from growing flowers to growing vegetables. This post reminds me of my irises I dug up! hmfph :(
Hopefully, I'll have a bounty of tomatoes, cucumbers, and spices.
