I've been thinking back to childhood and how my sister and I loved Richard Scarry books! The wonderful golden books he illustrated and my favorites, What Do People Do All Day and Busy, Busy Town.
My sisters nickname was Lowly, so she was especially fond of finding the smiling little worm throughout the pictures, like a Where's Waldo of the 70's.I still have my childhood copies of these books and my kids have been enjoying them. I find them frequently at estate sales and add to my growing collection. I was suprised to find at the library a new set of Busytown Mystery books published this year and also a show on CBS Cookie Jar TV.Then I found this amazing Scarry themed birthday party at stitch/craft. Since Lowell's birthday is coming up soon and we're having a very special guest, I think I have my theme. This adorable garland on etsy by leJeune would top it off!
What a busy, busy time we will have!
That garland is fabulous! Thanks for the trip down memory lane today. Old childrens books is one of my favourite things to talk about
