What a big boy!

My little man turns four years old today.
Happy Birthday Lowell!
I haven't been blogging this week because I've been busy getting my etsy orders shipped. Thanks to everyone for purchases. Most of them have been mailed and the rest will be in the post tomorrow.

While we were over at Lowell's school this morning to have a little party for him, of course we took some time to stop by a few garage sales. I found this fabulous antique chair. The owner said it was about 100 years old. It is perfect outside my front door. I have a fun little project in mind to transform it for Halloween into a witches chair. I'm going to drape cobwebs from it, add a witches hat, some spiders, grunge it up a bit and viola!. Should be fun:)Also got these wonderful dried gourds for 10 cents a piece. I love gourds. Anyone have any great gourd craft ideas?

Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy birthday to your sweet little boy.

Great thrift finds and I'll look forward to seeing what you end up with the Halloween theme (my favorite time).

You asked about gourd ideas. I posted an easy gourd painting project on my blog this week (Wednesday's post).

I laughed when I opened your blog, because I purchased the exact same witches broom at JoAnn's Fabric YESTERDAY!

Happy Birthday, Lowell! I can't believe our little babies from ECFE are already four! :-)

We belong to a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm and they had the kids paint some dried gourds. It was easy, fun, and the gourds turned out cute. And of the course the kids loved it!

  16. Great finds, I love finding a good deal. I did a gourd project of few years back from Sunset Magazine, with stickers to create shapes and patterns and shoe polish. The shoe polish gives them a beautiful dark finish. You have to add several layers of polish to get a darker finish, rub a lot for a beautiful shine.
