A little slow...

I've been feeling very...slow, lethargic and unproductive since I got home from my whirlwind weekend. Not really blocked, just not motivated to put one foot in front of the other.
With the rainy weather we've been having, I have been feeling very contemplative. Feeling like I want to try something new. Different.
Leave it to the ever-creative Sarah Bowen to provide the very spark I needed. She had just the ticket with her cute little online kit for this fab book she made.

I think I'm going to work BIG. Make an accordian book out of large canvases. I cut a series of pictures out of a magazine that I've been drawn to for awhile. I went to Kinko's and made big 11x14" copies. I had never done that before, what fun and only $1.79 each! I then bought very large canvases (5 for $5 at Dick Blick) and am going to have some fun. I think I just need to work with some new mediums in new sizes and I'll (hopefully) get my groove back.

Here they are bare, naked... I plan to use all some of the glorious new pieces of ephemera that Cassondra sent me. She has them for sale here. Woohoo...here I go! I'll let you know what I come up with:)

  5. Kari, I cannot wait to see what you create! Everyone needs a break every once in a while and you have been going full-throttle for a few months now. Take the time you need to renew and regenerate... smiles!

  6. I hope that you get the energy brewing again because the world needs your artistic perspective!

I know I've had a hard time getting my butt in gear lately too, perhaps it's astrological?
