I did a few pages in my inspiration journal with a fall feel to them. It's been cool and crisp here, definitely feeling like Autumn weather coming on.
I get completely obsessed with home decor magazines this time of year. I love to look at the wonderful rich, rustic colors of Autumn. I was giddy when the new issues of Country Living and Mary Engelbreit Home Companion came in the mail today. They look fabulous! Here's a peek at an article from the Oct. issue of Country Living magazine. Look at these amazing metallic pumpkins. I'm really into bronze this season. This article in ME Home Companion on Sue Hadden's wonderful Halloween home got me thinking. Don't you think we're due for a party in blogland? On Sunday night the 21st of September, running through the Autumn Equinox on the 22nd I will be hosting an Autumn Gathering Home party. If you'd like to participate leave a comment on this post and on the 21st or 22nd post pictures on your blog of your Autumn home. If you're looking for some crafty project inspiration, check out the amazing things people are creating over on the Sweet and Sinister flickr group here.
Also feeling inspired by some new reading. True Vision: Authentic Art Journals by LK Ludwig, The Savvy Crafters Guide to Success by Sandra McCall and the latest issue of Somerset Studios with some fabulous vintage Halloween artwork.

What a wonderful post to get me in the mood. My ME mag arrived and everything made me drool. I love the display that you have set up already! The wreath is particularly FABULOUS ....maybe you may want to include it on my Hallo-wreath challenge on Oct 1st on my GaGa for Garlands blog!?!?
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing
Enjoy the rest of your week

I will defiantly try to participate! I am already itching to get the fall/Halloween stuff out, but my son's 7th b-day party is on the 21st, so I want to wait till that stuff is done. I can't wait to get my Country Living and that ME looks inviting!
ReplyDeleteI would love to play along!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to get my Country Living either! I have saved the last 3 Halloween issues...they always dazzle me with their Halloween decor!
ReplyDeleteAs for me I'll probably just purchase a pumpkin or two to decorate with my daughter. Usually I go all out for Halloween, but I'm taking a break this year.
You have made me want to run out & grab the magazine right now. Already put them on my shopping list. Completely jealous, that your ME copy came in the mail already. I'm a subscriber too. Impatiently waiting now. :) I love what you did with your art journals. Thank you for the book recommendations. My library list & Amazon Wish List keep getting bigger.

This is my favorite time of year for magazines! It's not feeling very Autumn-ish yet where I live, but that should change in a few weeks. Please include me in the party--I can't forget the deadline, as it's my husband's birthday!
ReplyDeleteI think I posted in the wrong post! I'd like to show you my decorations. My son's birthday is the 24th not the 23rd-opps. Thinking about my mom's birthday which is tomorrow, 9/23!
