Making springtime...

Rainbow ice garden on Medicine Lake.

It finally warmed up to 20 degrees today, so we were able to get outside with the kids and actually play in the gorgeous white snow that we've only been able to look at for the last week with the sub-zero temps. Here is Lowell with his "change it to spring" shovel. Chloe was on one of the swings of the swing set you see in the background of this photo. The snow was too deep for the swing to move when I pushed her, so I shoveled some of the snow away exposing the grass below. Lowell exclaimed, "Mommy you made it spring!!" Since he could see the grass below he proclaimed it spring-time. Very cute! So here is the ever-optimistic Lowell digging away in the deep snow to find springtime. He has a ways to go....
Hope you found just a little bit of springtime in your day!

  3. So Cute :) Our snow has finally disappeared, and after a week of fog the sun came out today. I kept feeling like Spring was on the way, just the contrast between 2 weeks ago and a bit of sun today

  4. I love the things kids come up with. They provide so much perspective, don't they? You are so courageous to brave the cold. I tried yesterday but brrrrr!

  8. I love the snow, mainly because I live in Alabama. And when we do see snow it is only a dusting. But once in awhile we see snow like you have. Thinking of spring can only make matter better. Hang in there, Spring is getting closer everyday.
