Lovin' my holiday home...

Welcome to my holiday home! I am so glad that Karla is so graciously hosting another home party. It gives us all a chance to get a grand tour of the amazing homes of our fellow bloggers and a look at their holiday decor and oogle at their divine creations. So after you take the ArtsyMama home tour check out all the other wonderful artsy residences here. This large metal bow is on my front door. I love the color and the distressed paint. I found it at an estate sale this fall.
What I love most about my home throughout the seasons is displaying my own creations and the wonderful art I receive from others. Throughout this post I will highlight the many wonderful handmade items that make my home my creative nest. First is my show and tell table. My Christmas journal from this year is displayed here to be viewed in progress. The banner was done last year at Silver Bella in Pam Garrison's class. The Noel banner is from Ulla when we met recently. The oval vintage wallpaper ornament I bought at Silver Bella this year from Tracie at The Red Door Studio and the gorgeous felt tree was a gift from Julie Collings after we met at Silver Bella this year. The adorable little house was made by Mary Holcomb at Oh Merci. I bought this wonderful felt star from Charlotte Lyons last Christmas.

This was a very recent find at an estate sale. It's a lovely little Scandanavian scene with vintage wallpaper on the walls and corn husk dolls. Delightful!

This little vingette makes me feel so cozy. The little queen bird is asleep in her nest as the little girl sleeps under her patchwork blanket. Print is by Emily of Inside a Black Apple. Here is the tree at sunset with its twinkling lights. Since we have an artificial tree, I bought this large spruce wreath that certainly fills our living room with its wonderful holiday scent.

These photos are some metallic vingettes I have on the top of my bookcases in our living room. The collage is by Pam Garrison.

Love this wire card holder. Bought it from Sadie Olive. I have it filled with vintage holiday cards at the moment and will soon be adding new ones that I receive in the mail.

Nothing says winter cozy like my grandmothers mohair blanket.
For awhile I collected Heather Goldminc ceramic houses. I display them all in my oriental hutch. On top is the HOPE sign I made and gave to all the moms in my Autism mom support group. The whimsy felt banner was my grandmothers and it's on the back of our front door in front of my vintage white feather wreath. Some more whimsy from Silver Bella this year. The snowman I made in Pam Garrison's class.
Moving towards the kitchen, you see our advent calendar along with my children's art work.

Just took this picture of Chloe this past weekend. I adore it!!!

The vintage wallpaper stocking I made in Pam Garrison's class last year at Silver Bella.

My studio is in our dining room and I hang vintage stockings from the wall shelf. I've started collecting these and have found many at estate sales for a dollar or two. The printers tray holds some ATC card cuties I've been buying from Marilyn Healey and a banner I received from Hope at Paper Relics.
My sugar plum fairy tree. The little lady in the very middle is also by Hope Wallace.

Under my fairy tree is the winter paint-by-numbers I bought with Ulla and the stunning doll I bought from Carol at Raised in Cotton.

Another Inside a Black Apple print.

Some post Silver Bella goodies that I love to look at.

A wonderful bowl from Anthropologie holding my gifts for the 12 Days Swap that I anxiously await to open one each day beginning this Friday!

Another vintage stocking. The details on this are lovely.

My vintage wallpaper in a hat box labeled "souvenir of International Institute Folk Fair, November 1961."

And finally my snow queen. The wonderful black and white hat is from Cerri at Little Pink Studio and twinkling winter wish star. Who said black and white is only for Halloween?!

Are you still with me? Hope you've enjoyed this tour of my wintery northland home. To see many more visit here. Can't wait to see YOUR holiday home! If you've posted pics on your blog please let me know in the comments so I can visit.

Holiday Cheers!

Wow, your really are an artsy fartsy girl. I love it, I am the same way. This year I decided to make my indoor and outdoor theme scenes from the classic holiday cartoons, it makes a whole lot of sense, since this holiday season I took a job promoting some of my family’s favorite classics that have been compiled into a special gift set called: The ORIGINAL CHRISTMAS CLASSICS. It’s a limited edition DVD box which includes: "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer", "Frosty the Snowman", and "Santa Clause is Comin’ to Town". You can get the set anywhere they sell DVDs or at http://www.christmasclassics.tv . Oh, and it includes a bonus music CD, we play it at my office and it just puts Christmas conviviality into the air. Since, I've been working with them I hear how this was and is the gift that keeps on giving, you can share it with any and everyone.

This is the first year we won't have a large live tree. I was going to make up for it by getting a small live tree but they were really expensive. So I bought some real garlands instead.
That's a great photo of Chloe. I like the little vignette with the sleeping girl too. I think she needs something like a starry night behind her behind the glass. Or maybe some strings of stars or a moon hanging down in front of the glass. That would be cute and more unexpected. See, you're inspiring me.
