Something different...

Trying something completely new here. First off, working big...VERY big. I used 4 panels of 14x16" canvas for this one. Then I went to town trying some different background techniques, making silhouettes from paper, 3 dimensional elements and paint!I like how they turned out and they hang above our couch. It's so much fun to just play, try new things and work outside your comfort zone.Chloe continues to be my little muse. Here's her palette.

I did hit one estate sale this morning. Now I have to fit it in with my new found joy, running! I found this cute handmade felt stocking.Hope you're having a great weekend!

One of the best things we can do in live is think outside the box, step outside the comfort zone and try whatever fights of fancy feel "right". I'm loving this 4 panel canvas you've done..it's bright and fresh and delightfully whimsical.

Very nice! I love the spring feel to them too. It's odd how most of us think we can only do atc size or 8 x 10 but just make it a bit bigger and there you go! Great art for the home. :)

Very cool. Love the 70s type graphics with the unexpected colors. (Also love the pink paint on the plate - it looks like a bird flapping cream-colored wings.)

This turned out so great!! I think it would also be perfect for a nursery! I just saw large canvas' at Big Lots for $7 each and thought...wow, that could be fun!!

So, thanks to you I peeked over at Emily's art journal challenge and plunged right in!! I had so much fun doing my first page (and have checked her blog like a dozen times already waiting for the next word!) :)

I also love, love, love the pic of your daughters glittery hand!!! I love that you are passing the baton of creating on to your daughter!!!
