The First of May!

The Coming of May

May opened up her basket,

And I looked in to see

A sky of blue,

The great sun too,

Both smiling out at me.

May opened up her basket,

And out the flowers fell.

Their fragrance spilled

Until it filled

All nature with its spell.

May opened up her basket,

Her choristers were there!

Their welcoming
To joy and spring
Was wafted on the air.

She opened up her basket-

The world was blithely gay.

Earth knew again

The ample regin

And blessing of the May!

Happy May Day! This is one of the most fun and special days. I just love the tradition of the May basket and it's my fourth year hosting the May Basket swap. Boy did I ever enjoy partnering up with Morgen this year for some springtime crafty fun! Here is the amazing package she sent me. She had so many wonderful handmade touches. With spring making a very slow appearance here in Minnesota, her goodies really cheered me up! Love these sewn handmade cards she made. Beautiful!
Check out these fun blocks she made with photos from my blog. The mini spring bunting is the perfect touch! Morgen is a floral designer, so her bundles of vintage millinery and other supplies were just beautifully put together. Thanks, Morgen!! This is a peek at the basket that I sent to her.
Hope your May Day is filled with little surprises and rays of sunshine!

Kari,
I don't know how I missed your swap...but I did. Probably wouldn't have been at the best time for me.
Man alive, the baskets get better and better. The one you received is astonishing! I will have lots of fun looking at the pictures, as always!
Fondly,
Suz

Miss you!!!! Still seems strange that we just all went back to our lives. Buddy Trip 2011 was the best!
