All good things must end....

After six years of blogging, I am writing my final post here on ArtsyMama. It is with deep gratefulness in my heart I am finishing this chapter. I have written 1096 posts and taken thousands of photos to share on this blog. Thank you for being such an amazing audience and supporter. You have watched my children grow from infants to toddlers now to school age kids. You have participated in swaps, blog parties and book launches. You have been my cheering section. Many of you that know me personally know that this has been a difficult fall for me. My children are now in first and second grade and having them both at school all day leaves a big gaping hole. I have had to figure out how to spend my days while they are gone and figure out who I have become in this new chapter of my life. I know that I will always need a creative outlet and avenue to express myself and I'm not sure what form that will take. I just don't feel that this is the most authentic place for me to share right now. I want to know what it feels like to be fully present and not have to make every little event "presentable" to blog about. I know that I will continue to follow the seasons and I'm sure I will capture it through the lens of my camera. I will post on my 365 blog a photo a day until the end of the year. I do plan to continue to archive each post of this blog and you'll find the topics on the right side bar. Life changes, whether we want it to or not. Children grow up. I am going to stop, take a deep breath and embrace whatever it is that comes next. Thank you....

Wow! I am so surprised! Well, Kari I just want to say you've been an inspiration to me over the past couple years, and I can totally relate to what you are going through. My kids are 6 and 8, and I'm really blogging less because they really need a bit more privacy now. And yes, it is hard to reconcile the quest with authentic with making pretty pictures for the world to see. At any rate, thank you for sharing so much of yourself and your amazing photos. And I'm keeping you on the blogroll *just in case* xoxo Shannon

So sorry to see you go. I hope you find something you love to do.
I blog mostly for myself as an online journal. I don't have the greatest readership, but I can count on a few ladies who always leave comments.
Please stay on Facebook so we know what you are up to.

Before you go I must say thanks for introducing me, via your Sweet and Sinister swap last year, to someone who has become a good friend. The impact of your blog has spread far and wide, I know, but I totally understand the need to "be present" in your own life. Hope life brings you lots to enjoy in the future!

All the best as you explore and discover new creative outlets.

I don't "blog-hop" nearly as much as I used to but I'm glad I popped in here today to get your update.

Enjoy the holidays!

I, too am stunned! I understand though, but you know you can still only share what you want. Sometimes we need quiet, a time to reflect.
Thank you for all the inspiration you have shared, I was part of 3 blog swaps, I truly enJOYed!
Thank you for pushing the boundaries and sharing your world!
I hope you find some new ways to express your creative soul!

Hi Kari
Sorry to see you go. I have loved your blog from the first time I found it and it was fun doing "cabinet of curiosities" with you -seems like a lifetime ago. I enjoyed our swap too. Your blog always inspired me and uplifted me and I wish you all the best on your future endeavors!

I just discovered your blog via a link on someone else's blog and the first post I read was your LAST one! It was beautifully written and caused me to feel quite sad that you are leaving your blog. I will check out your 365 blog you mentioned, but meanwhile, I am going to link to your blog and spend more time reading through the years, watching how your children and yourself changed and grew. I understood what you meant about being present in the moment. Your blog is full of beautiful photos and I can tell that you spent a lot of time preparing them to share with us. You take beautiful photos. If you ever decide to start again in blogging, I'll be here. :) Meanwhile, I hope you're doing well in your life and adjusting to your children being in school and finding yourself. I understand. :)

Hi,

I came across your site http://artsymama.blogspot.com/ while searching Google for blogs talking about growing/gardening equipment and related keywords and was wondering if you'd be open to doing a sponsored blog post.

We have a site that growing/gardening equipment and are looking for more exposure online.

Our budget for this is initially $20 for the post and we would give you the blog post (gardening related & already written) as well as a picture to post. All you would have to do is post it.

Here's a sample post we did on another blog: http://homefurniturebiz.com/grow-lights/

We're really just testing out different bloggers, and if you bring some good traffic, we're totally open to doing an annual banner ad!

Also if you have some other blogs, please send them over and I'll take a look and we might be open to doing a post on those as well!

Let me know if you'd be open to this!

Regards,

Vanessa
