Holiday spirit reigns...

We don't have a real tree and I was aching for that fresh pine smell in the house. Rather than just buying a candle, I decided to go with a giant spruce wreath. I prettied it up with some treasures from my day with Ulla and a few ornaments. What a heavenly smell it is:)

The stockings are hung.

We don't have a fireplace or a mantle, so the wall shelf will have to do. As I mentioned in my last post, my intention is to do a lot of crafting this holiday season. I had a lot of fun making this collage with some tips from Teresa. At first it was a winter collage. Then I changed out the picture to Lowell's preschool picture. It's fun to have a versatile backgound that I can change out the image for different occassions.Lowell hangs on the wall on one side of the tree and Chloe on the other. Here's the second page in my Christmas journal. The topic was winter weather. I used pictures of our home and the kids that I took today.
The fun little ATC card is from Elizabeth Shea. She gave it to me at Silver Bella. She embossed on vellum, so I did my journaling behind the ATC and it peeks through just a bit. Fun effect! My little gift book for the holidays. Finally, have you all heard of Trunkt.com (The buyers guide to independent art and design)? Sarah mentioned it on her blog today and I thought I'd check it out. Definitely worth looking into.

Your decorations look absolutely fab, I love your embellishments on your "real" wreath, very classic!
I am having fun with Teresa's ideas too, but they do remain WIP, cant quite clinch the "look" that you have seemed to have obtained with both your lovely works!! looking forward as always to seeing MORE!!
Happy Holidays to you and your family!!
