this is where we play....

Yesterday Chloe and I went to a new park and reserve to explore and play. The playground set was so neat! The actual park is located right in the middle of what was once the Big Woods, a temperate hardwood forest. Think Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder. The playground was constructed it to look and feel like you are playing in the trees and old fallen stumps of the forest. What a great concept!



It was such a beautiful area, with actual woods to walk through nearby.

Can you find Chloe? There was even a lake nearby. Beach season is definitely over here.

What a great way to spend a gorgeous fall afternoon!

Quite literally. Can't think of a better place to spend the morning on my bike. It's my Monday happy place:)

feeling autumnal....

This weekend has been all about celebrating the season! After going to a few estate sales today, I felt like everything I touched had autumn written all over it, like this cozy hat and blanket I scored. The fall colors here are spectacular for about a week each year, sometimes a bit more. So when the color is at peak, it makes you want to stop everything and take it all in. After soaking in the amazing color in the woods yesterday we went to the pumpkin patch. Love the variety of colors and textures!After picking up some fresh apples, I came home and made an apple pie. Yum!

extreme fall color....

Our leaves are not considered "peak" here yet, but with the crystal blue sky it sure is stunning out there in the woods. Happy October, indeed. This is the best time of year!
