Invitation to a Book of Dreams

Altered book (above) by Citrus Faire
So it looks like Rhonna is going to do round THREE of her 21 day challenge. Woohoo! She has quite a following. I have thoroughly enjoyed the first two rounds I participated in, the habits I created and the kick in the behind that I needed to create art each day.

Following the momentum of the 21 day challenge, I'm going to start something a little different and invite you all to participate along with me. I was completely taken aback by Citrus Faire's Book of Dreams I just love it and can't stop thinking about it. I decided that I must make one of my own. So I'm going to do just that. I think this title can be interpreted any number of ways. It could be a book of actual dreams that you have while sleeping, dreams that you hope to accomplish or just a fun altered inspirational book. Whatever you'd like! Take a gander at Cassondra's altered book here, be inspired, and come along on this journey to record our dreams and make them a reality.

I have decided to try a different technique each week and post instructions on how to do that particular technique on my blog once a week. That way if anyone wants to follow along and make one of thier own, we can try new things together. Everyone will have a different interpretation, so they will all be wonderfully unique! For week one, we will work with how to begin altering a book, then maybe move on to working with metal, found objects, pockets, tags, fabric...you name it, we'll probably use it! I'm really looking forward to it. It will be a bit slower pace than Rhonna's challenge. I'm thinking of going an entire week on one technique. If anyone would like to work with me and post on their blog, just add a comment to my posts with your link. This is going to be so much fun!!!! Hope you'll join me:)

I like it! Count me in! I'll be doing Rhonna's Challenge and a Circle Journal besides, but hopefully I can manage all 3. I like how you will be featuring a different technique each week. That book is Amazing! Guess I'd better go looking for an old one to alter.

I'd give this a try. Although I have to admit that altering anything that resembles a book- is almost a sin to me. Sounds exciting!

Oh man that Cassondra's book is amazing! My eyeballs went all crazy there! I would love to join in so count me in!!!! LOVE that the pace will be slower than Rhonna's page a day. SO much fun but crazy-making trying to fit it in with all the other life stuff. Thanks!

Okay, it sounds fun so I'll give it a try. A week per technique sounds great! I'm still on Day 14 of Rhonna's 21-day challenge that just ended yesterday (hee hee). And of course the new baby is due in less than 6 weeks, but I'll follow along while I can! Thanks for doing this!

What a fab find. It's changed my opinion about altered books. I be watching and playing. One thing I ahve learned from the "1 challenge is that I can make a peice of art most days. So I'll try this, round 3 and Kellly Angard's Technique Tuesday challenge too. Love it all!

Love your challenge. Want to do it with you. But won't be able to share my results cause...no blog. Like the time you suggest for each step. Can't wait to get started.
