Feeling rustic...

Thanks so much for all your kind words about potty training. It really is amazing how much it alters the life of everyone involved. Lowell did really well. After hearing some heartbreaking stories about autistic kids not being potty trained until well into elementary school we were a wee bit scared. He is really stepping up to the plate and making great strides. Yay! I did take some time out and I went to a really fun estate sale this weekend:) I bought some rustic goodies (above). I fell in love with this weathered and aged house shaped display cabinet. I added the "home" blocks to it. I may use it to display some house themed found objects and art pieces. I'm looking for some small white pumpkins to put candles inside of and place in the metal holder (at left). The wire basket at the right I couldn't love more. Ever since seeing this I can't get enough of the primitive aged metal look.
Went ahead and bought Ali's new book before even looking beyond the cover, because I just knew it would rock. She is just so over-the-top inspiring. This book is absolutely wonderful!! It's full of inspiring projects, tons of eye candy and wonderful ideas about capturing the stories of our lives in a creative way.

That is soo cute! You can have soo much fun with that little house Nesting it all up! Dressing with trinkets and sculptures!
I'm afraid of this new book so far I keep buying books I love them but man I just don't have much time to Create with the 4 kiddos...now we have the Fires all around us (in Ventura County Cal.) and the ants are invading so I am the ant rangler too!...Much more grateful not near the fire areas although we had one on far end of town that is just about out! YEAH! Hard work for those fireman...I think I'll be making some Mrs Fields Blue ribbon choc.chip cookies and gallons of milk for our FIrefighters. THey seemed to have like that last time I did that. a few months ago we had a little canyon fire behind our home a bit a way but not far we could stand in the driveway and see it ...it was out quickly thank goodness though everyone was packed with change of clothes and pjs and books. Oh well sorry for the long chat I adore your Blog!Love to you and yours!
Warmly,

I met Ali she sent me pictures of my "Fairy Scrap Mother' doll in her studio while she was making the book. Ali's definitely inspirational!

Cute stuff you've got there! I'm feeling in the mood to decorate these days. Not sure I'll indulge every whim, though. Why aren't there more hours in the day?

Fun theme for a girlfriend party, looks like it was a roaring success.

Your blog is a creative inspiration to read in so many different avenues. Would like to hear more of our thoughts on the book for those of us in regions where it has not yet arrived.
